Fabric in a vacuum

Fabric in a Vacuum explores what happens when fabric is freed from the limitations of the body and allowed to exist as a form of its own. The collection imagines garments suspended between structure and weightlessness, where drape, movement, and volume become the primary focus. Soft layers appear to float and expand, creating silhouettes that feel detached from gravity. Through fluid forms and delicate motion, the work investigates fabric as an independent presence rather than simply a material for clothing.

The sketching process focused on exploring how fabric could generate volume without relying on traditional garment construction. Through a series of iterative drawings, different approaches to draping, wrapping, twisting, and suspension were tested. The sketches allowed for rapid experimentation with movement and proportion before refining the final silhouettes. This process helped identify forms that best expressed the concept of weightlessness and fluidity.
